Working with Male, Transgender and Nonbinary Minor Survivors

This session focused on understanding the similar and unique needs of boys, transgender, and nonbinary trafficking survivors and considerations to providing services to them.

This webinar provided by Mercy Dizon and Audrey Baedke was titled "Working with Male, Transgender and Nonbinary Minor Survivors". The US Trans Survey found that 11% of transgender individuals have engaged in trading sex for something of value, in comparison to 1% of women. Studies on homeless and runaway youth conducted by PACT (formally ECPAT USA) found that the percentage of boys that have traded sex for something of value is comparable to girls. Yet, the majority of anti-trafficking organizations serve only female survivors of sex trafficking. This session focused on understanding the similar and unique needs of boys, transgender, and nonbinary trafficking survivors and considerations to providing services to them.
